A tree inspection is a close-up evaluation of a single tree — its bark, trunk, canopy structure, root flare, and the ground around its base. Our ISA-certified arborists know what to look for and what different signs actually mean for the long-term health and safety of the tree.
We look at things like bark condition, canopy density compared to what's normal for that species, any visible cracks or splits in the trunk, signs of fungal activity at the base, how the root flare looks at ground level, and the overall structure of the major limbs. Warning Signs That Mean You Should Call Us
Most people aren't sure what to look for when it comes to tree safety. Here are the signs we tell Auburn homeowners to watch for:
- Sudden leaning — a tree that starts leaning quickly after a storm or wet period may have root failure and needs immediate attention.
- Mushrooms or shelf fungus at the base — fungal growth on or around the root zone is a reliable sign of internal decay.

Near Structures or Power Lines

City Trees vs. Your Trees

If you think a street tree is a hazard, you can report it to the City of Auburn Public Works Department and they'll send their Urban Forestry Specialist out to assess it.
